TIGARD

Untitled design (7).png

With a population of about 50,000, Tigard, located 10 miles south of Portland, is a bustling city with a thriving community devoted to arts and culture, history and recreation. Tigard, which was once known as Tigardville, was named after Wilson Tigard, patriarch to one of the early families of settlers. Today, Tigard offers some of the best shopping in Oregon and a top-notch community theatre.

No community in Washington County would be complete without a festival, and Tigard is no exception. Summertime brings an array of festivities such as the Festival of Balloons, held each June, and the Fourth of July fireworks celebration.

Walk or Bike the Fanno Creek Trail

Stretching between three cities—Beaverton, Tigard and Tualatin over 18.6 miles—the Fanno Creek Trail provides opportunities to connect with nature on the trail and downtown charm. There are many entry points onto the Fanno Creek Trail, including from Main Street in downtown Tigard. At Tigard’s Main Street and Grand Avenue, you will find an interpretive panel and map to help you both learn about the Fanno Creek Trail. Before hitting the trail, head to Symposium Coffee for a handcrafted local coffee. What’s my suggestion? Try a lavender latte made with house-made hazelnut milk for a smooth, soothing and delicious caffeine buzz.
